Shell's PMs reach APM accreditation without rewriting their evidence.

We mapped Shell's existing portfolio regime to the APM standard, working directly for the APM as project managers. Shell now submits a new cohort of candidates every quarter.

Shell's PMs reach APM accreditation without rewriting their evidence.

The Brief

Keep the existing evidence. Earn the standard.

Shell already had a portfolio of evidence regime running for its project professionals. We had to enable Shell PMs to gain APM accreditation without rewriting documents they had already produced, and without weakening the APM's assessment standards.

We worked directly for the APM as project managers, building the bridge between two systems that had to talk to each other.

Our Approach

Map the standards, train the assessors, run the pilot.

A smiling woman in a mustard cardigan and white collared shirt holds a water bottle and wears a conference badge, talking to another woman.

The Outcome

A standing rhythm of accreditation, every quarter

Shell now submits a new cohort of candidates to the APM every quarter, drawn from across its global organisation. Shell PMs gain professional recognition without disrupting an evidence regime that already worked.

"Shell has demonstrated its ability to generate a strong projects community. Independent validation of development and assessment processes is key to driving up standards. We are delighted to have been part of Shell's journey."Paul Erricker, Managing Director, The Project Academy

Shell did not get a one-off accreditation. Shell secured a permanent, recognised pathway that runs alongside their own internal regime, with a fresh cohort going to the APM every quarter.
