A pilot so successful Heathrow rolled it out to 250 PM staff.
Won a competitive tender to design BAA's PM competence regime at Heathrow. The pilot's positive feedback led to a community-wide rollout, 140 independent 1-2-1 reviews and a full training needs analysis.

The Brief
Define the competences. Then assess against them.
Heathrow's PM community needed two things: a clear picture of what competence looks like at each career level, and an honest assessment against it. We won the tender against stiff competition with a combined approach drawing on role profiling, competence assessment, career coaching and the APM's Competence Framework.
The pilot covered just over 30 staff. The brief from BAA was simple: prove this works.
Our Approach
Pilot, prove, scale.

The Outcome
Pilot to programme, in one decision
The pilot was successful enough that BAA had no hesitation rolling it out across the full community of 250 PM staff. We delivered 140 independent 1-2-1 sessions and presented BAA with an organisation-level view of strengths, weaknesses and training needs that none of them had before.
Independent assessment is uncomfortable, and it is where the real picture of capability comes from. Heathrow's leadership chose to commission both, and to act on what they learned.
